Regular well-child check-ups are an important part of pediatric healthcare and are recommended annually for all ages. Newborns and infants are examined at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months of age, and annual check-ups begin at age 2. Proper immunizations are a vital component of pediatric healthcare and will be given on a recommended schedule with most vaccines being administered during the first few years of life. We also meet with expectant parents in prenatal visits, or newborn conferences as well call them, to help them in their decision to find a pediatrician. This is an important decision to make when preparing for baby.
Laboratory evaluation depends upon the age of the child. Special chemistries are performed as a necessary part of children’s overall healthcare plan to aid in reaching a proper diagnosis. We recommend you verify with your insurance company to ensure coverage for laboratory services performed in our office.
Sick child visits may be requested by the parent or recommended
by the doctor or triage nurse. Follow-up visits are routinely done
after a significant illness or problem.
Our office is available 365 days a year so emergency room visits can be avoided. If necessary, we can direct you to a pediatric after hours urgent care facility when children’s healthcare needs become severe.
